- Collaborative law: I use the collaborative law process to help clients in divorce, child custody and other family law matters. With the collaborative law process, parties are encouraged to resolve disputes without the intervention of the courts, thus minimizing the emotional and financial costs frequently associated with protracted litigation. - Divorce: I handle collaborative law divorce, uncontested divorce and contested divorce cases. I also help clients who need representation for a military divorce. I have more than 20 years of experience in divorce and family law cases, so I am prepared to provide sound advice and vigorous representation in all matters that commonly arise in the context of divorce, including property division, child custody and visitation, child support and spousal support. I have experience in complex cases which involve domestic violence, high-asset divorce and complex property division issues.
- Adoption: I have considerable experience helping families with the adoption process. Whether you want to adopt a new baby, a foster child or a stepchild, I have the experience to provide the critical guidance and knowledgeable representation you require.
- Child custody and visitation: I represent clients in custody and visitation matters that arise in the context of divorce, paternity and post-divorce matters, including modifications of custody and visitation, parental relocation disputes and other critical matters, which impact the rights of parents and the welfare of children.
- Child support: I handle child support matters arising during a divorce, after a divorce or in connection with a paternity matter (cases involving unmarried biological parents).
- Modifications: I represent clients who are seeking modifications of child support, child custody, visitation or spousal support. I also represent clients in parental relocation cases and other post-divorce matters.
- Prenuptial agreements: I draft and review prenuptial agreements. There are many technical requirements that are required to ensure the proper development and execution of prenuptial agreements. I use my experience in drafting and reviewing prenuptial agreements to help my clients understand their options, understand the effect of their agreements and develop sound agreements to pursue their objectives.
- Legal separation: If divorce is not right for you, I also have experience representing clients who are seeking a legal separation.
- Grandparent representation: Grandparents do not enjoy equal rights with parents in regard to minor children, but there are situations in which grandparents may be able to pursue custody or visitation with their grandchildren.
- Domestic violence: As a part of my family law practice, I am sometimes called upon to assist a victim of domestic violence in obtaining a domestic violence restraining order. I also represent clients who are opposing a restraining order or seeking a modification of a restraining order.
