Experienced Collaborative Law Attorney
Settle Your Family Law Disputes without Going to Court
If you are facing divorce, but want to resolve your differences cooperatively, without the time, expense and emotional challenges that come with courtroom proceedings, the collaborative approach to family law may be the solution. In a collaborative divorce proceeding, you and your ex-spouse agree to resolve all disputes without the intervention of the courts, often leading to better long term results for everyone.
At the office of Dorothea G. Aguero, Attorney at Law, P.C., in Anchorage, Alaska, I have over 18 years of experience and advanced training in the collaborative approach to family law. I work closely with individuals who want to find mutually beneficial solutions to family law matters while avoid the expense and stress of litigation. My Collaborative Family Law Practice
In the collaborative approach, you and your spouse agree that all matters related to a divorce or family law problem, including custody, support and property matters, will be resolved without the involvement of the judge or the court. You are represented by counsel, who works with you, your spouse and opposing counsel to identify and implement solutions that are agreeable to everyone involved. If necessary, you can bring in outside experts, such as financial planners or family counselors, to help determine the most effective solutions.
In addition to providing a way for you to respectfully settle disputes without going to court, the collaborative process also allows you to be represented by a lawyer, someone who can provide guidance throughout the process, making certain that your rights are protected. The collaborative process encourages open communication and minimizes the stress and anxiety on your and your children. It allows you to receive guidance from caring and compassionate professionals while reaching creative and intelligent agreements. The collaborative process helps you focus on the future and not the past.
At the office of Dorothea G. Aguero, Attorney at Law, P.C., I am deeply committed to the collaborative approach to family law. I will work closely with you, your spouse, your spouse's counsel and professional experts to fashion a solution that is in everyone's best interests. If you are able to come to agreement, I will also review or prepare the document setting forth the terms.
