Settle Your Family Law Disputes Without Going To Court

If you are facing divorce, but want to resolve your differences cooperatively, without the time, expense and emotional challenges that come with courtroom proceedings, the collaborative approach to family law may be the solution. My Collaborative Family Law Practice

In the collaborative approach, you and your spouse agree that all matters related to a divorce or family law problem, including custody, support and property matters, will be resolved without the involvement of the judge or the court. In the collaborative process, you and spouse are represented by collaboratively trained, experienced attorneys who will help you look for shared interests and mutually beneficial solutions through the mediation process. The process utilizes a team approach where the attorneys work with other professionals such as an accountant and family counselor who act as neutral advisers. This approach allows you and your spouse to achieve well-crafted and long-term solutions to your divorce and child custody issues in a confidential, supportive and informed environment but with each of you having your rights protected by your own attorney. Once a complete agreement is reached, your attorneys will prepare the written documents and assist you in presenting the agreement to the court, and often, some of the financial details of the agreement can be kept confidential.

At the office of Dorothea G. Aguero, Attorney at Law, P.C., I am deeply committed to the collaborative approach when possible because it offers a much more civilized, cost-effective, comprehensive way you and your spouse can utilize your resources to achieve a much more positive, respectful, supportive and creative approach to resolving family matters.
